This South American high desert is brimming with out-of-this-world landscapes, diverse wildlife, ancient culture, and opportunities for adventure. Chile’s Atacama Desert may be the driest desert in the world, but what it lacks in water, it makes up for with picture-perfect scenery like the extraterrestrial Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley), the Tatio geyser field, the Atacama Salt Flats, and ancient ruins nestled in craggy valleys. And with some of the clearest night skies anywhere in the world, there’s something to marvel at day and night!
