Leave Santiago behind for a thrilling rafting adventure on the Maipo River, surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of Cajón del Maipo. Navigate class III and IV rapids, enjoy mountain scenery, and experience one of Central Chile’s most exciting outdoor activities.

Set off from Santiago and travel through the Maipo Valley toward the Andes for a day of whitewater rafting. After arriving in Cajón del Maipo, your guides will provide the necessary equipment and safety briefing before you enter the river. The route covers approximately 16 km of scenic rapids and mountain landscapes, ending in San José de Maipo or El Melocotón depending on the season. After the rafting experience, enjoy lunch before returning to Santiago.
An optional visit to Refugio Animal Cascada is available for an additional price.

Departures are available every day on request from January to December.
The trip starts at your hotel in Santiago at 9 AM and finishes back at your hotel at approximately 5 PM.
This rafting experience takes place on the Maipo River, with the rafting section ending in San José de Maipo or El Melocotón depending on the season. The optional visit to Refugio Animal Cascada can be added for an additional cost.
Located in the Cascada de las Ánimas Nature Sanctuary, Refugio Animal Cascada includes a rehabilitation center and an exhibition center for native fauna, where work is carried out to care for native animals that need support.
No rafting experience is required, but you must be physically fit and able to swim. This program is considered moderate due to the nature of the river and the class III and IV rapids.
Guide to client ratio: 1:6.
We use comfortable vans or cars for the activities and transfers.
Central Chile has a mild and temperate climate. The warmest months are from November to February, when temperatures can reach 29°C / 84°F. June to August are the coolest months, with temperatures as low as 10°C / 50°F.
Bring sandals or tennis shoes, wool socks in winter, swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, lip balm, and personal items. The equipment supplied includes a wetsuit, life jacket, paddle jacket, and helmet.
We reserve the right to change the order of the itinerary at the discretion of the guide and based on operational considerations. The guide may also modify, change, or eliminate part of the itinerary based on safety, weather, river conditions, or other relevant considerations.
