Regular departures are available every day on request with a minimum of 2 people (From October to March).
>> Please note this trip is an EcoCamp Extension and is to be enjoyed as an add-on to one of our other Ecocamp Patagonia programs.
EcoCamp Extensions are excursions you can book in addition to our regular EcoCamp programs to enhance your experience in Patagonia! These tours can take place before or after your main program but we strongly recommend doing them afterward in order to maximize your initial experience at EcoCamp with your fellow trekking/Safari group members. Transport in and out of the park is not included as these services are covered by your regular program with EcoCamp.
This trip starts and ends with pick-up and drop-off at EcoCamp Patagonia.
This trip requires you to be in good physical condition.
The minimum age required is 16 years old and a maximum of 65 years old.
In Torres del Paine and throughout Patagonia, transportation is in a minivan which normally seats between 8 to 14 people.
The vast unbroken stretch of ocean to the west and south of the South American continent leaves the Patagonian Andes very exposed to winds that circle the Antarctic landmass. In addition, the strong marine influence and the effect of the Southern Patagonian Ice field make the weather hard to predict. In spring or early summer fine weather may deteriorate almost without warning, bringing rain and even snow. Even in summer (December to March) you should come prepared to find strong cold winds (up to 130km/hr) and rainfall. The summer’s average temperature is 11ºC/52ºF (24ºCmax, 2ºC min). However, just as quickly as the weather turns nasty, it can become lovely and sunny. So come prepared for all types of weather!
Once you book the trip, we will send you a pre-trip booklet with detailed information about your program and extension.
The weather in Patagonia can be difficult to deal with at times and during low and shoulder seasons (From April to October), the boat trip to Grey Glacier, Pehoé Lake crossing, along other water activities may be canceled.
