Your journey begins in Puerto Montt, where you will meet your guide at the airport and travel to Puerto Varas, a charming town on the shores of Lake Llanquihue with views of Osorno Volcano. From there, continue along the lake toward Frutillar, passing the German Colony Monument, visiting the Colonial Museum, and strolling along the waterfront. Later, visit Puerto Octay before returning to your hotel in Puerto Varas.

Today you will explore Alerce Andino National Park, home to ancient alerce trees, some over 3,000 years old. Travel toward Puerto Montt and the Carretera Austral, passing forests, Andean lowlands, and small farming villages with a European character. Inside the park, walk along forest trails surrounded by native species and impressive old-growth trees. After a picnic lunch, continue hiking before returning to Puerto Varas.
Note: From April to September, rainfall and muddy trails are common, so proper gear is necessary. This excursion may be changed for a similar alternative due to weather conditions.
Overnight at Hotel Puelche, Premium Room, or similar, Puerto Varas.

Leave Puerto Varas and travel toward Ensenada, Osorno Volcano, and the ski center, where wide views open over Lake Llanquihue and the surrounding volcanoes. After enjoying the scenery, descend and begin the El Solitario trail, a lava-formed path through native forest. This undulating route offers constant views of volcanoes and the lake before reaching Petrohué Waterfalls, close to Todos los Santos Lake.

Wake up surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of Todos los Santos Lake. Today you can choose one of the included lodge excursions, with options focused on kayaking, scenic trekking routes, and navigations through the lake and surrounding waterways. Each activity offers a different way to experience Petrohué’s forests, volcanic scenery, rivers, and emerald waters. In the afternoon, return to the lodge and enjoy free time to relax and take in the views.

Meals: Breakfast, Box Lunch, Dinner.

After breakfast, you may enjoy a short walk along the lakeshore for your final views of the landscape. Around midday, you will travel toward Puerto Montt, crossing Pérez Rosales National Park, following the shores of Lake Llanquihue, and passing Puerto Varas before reaching Puerto Montt Airport. Services end at the airport, leaving you with beautiful memories of Chile’s Lake District.

Nights 1 and 2 at Hotel Puelche, Puerto Varas
The first boutique hotel in Puerto Varas offers beautiful views of Lake Llanquihue and the Osorno, Calbuco, and Tronador volcanoes. With mountain-style architecture, spacious rooms, a warm atmosphere, a hamburger bar, souvenir shop, and spa services available on request, it is a comfortable base for discovering the Lake District.

Nights 3 and 4 at Petrohué Lodge, Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park
Located in Petrohué, on the shores of Todos los Santos Lake, Petrohué Lodge offers warm hospitality in a stunning setting of emerald waters, forests, mountains, and views of Osorno Volcano. The lodge features a cozy fireplace, indoor and outdoor pools, and spectacular views from its rooms.

Departures are available every day on request from October to April.
The trip starts on the day of your choice at Puerto Montt Airport or at your hotel in Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas. The trip finishes on Day 5 at Puerto Montt Airport or back at your hotel in Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas. Please contact us to confirm which domestic flights best fit the itinerary.
This trip does not demand physical activity beyond walking a maximum of two consecutive hours over fairly flat terrain, with stops as needed to match the group’s pace. If you would like more active excursions, local guides can incorporate additional activity where possible.

Vehicles depend on group size. Normally, groups of 2 people are transported in minivans with an 8-person capacity.
From November to April, expect generally good weather, with temperatures ranging from 30°C / 86°F to 8°C / 46°F. However, it may rain one or two days per week in summer. From May to October, rainfall is more abundant and temperatures drop, averaging 15°C / 59°F maximum and -2°C / 28°F minimum.
Bring a small day backpack, waterproof hiking shoes and socks, waterproof parka and pants, sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, bathing suit, and towel if visiting hot springs.
