Celebrating 35 years of Cascada Expediciones
In 2026, Cascada Expediciones celebrates 35 years of adventure travel in Chile and beyond.
Founded in 1991, the company began by offering rafting and kayaking trips along Chile’s Bío Bío River. As hydroelectric dams transformed the region, we gradually moved beyond kayaking, expanding our operations and developing a broader range of travel experiences.
Every traveler has a different idea of the perfect trip. We bring together our local knowledge, travel expertise, and network of trusted partners to create journeys that reflect each traveler’s interests, pace, and preferences. From exploring Patagonia’s iconic trails to discovering the Atacama Desert or venturing beyond Chile’s borders, we help travelers experience South America in a way that feels right for them.
The World Travel Awards
Often referred to as the Oscars of the travel industry, the World Travel Awards celebrate excellence across more than 50 categories in tourism worldwide. The awards recognize a wide range of businesses and destinations, including cultural and natural attractions, cities, hotels, lodges, resorts, airlines, tour operators, and cruise companies.
Organizations are nominated before the public and travel industry professionals cast their votes. Votes from travel professionals carry twice the weight of public votes.
This year, several Chilean tourism businesses received recognition, while Chile itself won in four categories, including:
- South America’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination
- South America’s Leading Cruise Destination
- South America’s Leading Green Destination
- South America's Leading Tourist Board 2026, awarded to SENATUR
