EcoCamp Patagonia ISO 14001 re-certification 2013

EcoCamp recently had its ISO 14001 certification renewed following its successful triennial recertification process. EcoCamp has now held this international environmental management standard for six years, since April 2007, and will have been certified for nine years when it reaches its next recertification process in 2016.

EcoCamp proud to become a Long Run Initiative Supporter

Cascada is proud to announce that EcoCamp Patagonia is the latest official supporter of the Long Run, an initiative designed to support responsible and sustainable projects around the world. The Long Run initiative is the flagship initiative of the Zeitz Foundation, a non-profit organisation working to promote the 4C’s of sustainability - Conservation, Culture, Community & Commerce.

EcoCamp Patagonia Highly Commended in Responsible Tourism Awards 2012!

EcoCamp Patagonia has been announced as the runner up in Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards 2012 in the category Best in a Mountain Environment! Being highly commended by judges is an honour for EcoCamp who were also highly commended in 2009 and have continued to innovate their sustainable technology and ecological initiatives each year from their opening in 2001 until the present day.

EcoCamp Patagonia wins Chile’s Most Sustainable Tourism Company 2012 prize

In a ceremony hosted last night in Santiago by Chile’s Federation of Tourism Businesses (Fedetur.org), EcoCamp Patagonia was awarded Chile’s Most Sustainable Tourism Company prize for 2012. The prize was received by EcoCamp's proud owners Javier Lopez, Yerko Ivelic and Nani Astorga.

Cascada Expediciones and EcoCamp Patagonia renew carbon offsets

Cascada Expediciones and EcoCamp Patagonia have offset their carbon emissions for the 2011-2012 season. In the year 2008, Ecocamp became a Carbon Neutral company with the goal of minimizing emissions of CO2 as much as possible and in the future hopefully becoming a CO2-free lodge. Between June 2009 and June 2010 EcoCamp offset 183.680 tonnes of CO2 emissions and between July 1st 2010 and June 30th 2011 they offset 229.402 tonnes. 
 

EcoCamp Patagonia ISO 9001 certified

EcoCamp Patagonia has been certified by SGS as complying with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, ensuring the highest standards of management principles are met.

EcoCamp has been simultaneously certified with a Quality Seal from Chile's tourism subsecretary (part of SERNATUR), complying with the high quality standards outlined for a nature centre or tourist lodge.

EcoCamp Patagonia was highly commended in the Best in a Mountain Evironment category in Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism awards 2009. The judges said “Ecocamp Patagonia sits at the cutting edge of environmental practice with the design and creation of their innovative 4 star geodesic dome tented hotel (...)”
