What is an EcoCamp Extension?
EcoCamp Extras are excursions you can book in addition to our regular EcoCamp programs, to enhance your experience in Patagonia!. These tours can take place before or after your main program but we strongly recommend doing them afterward to maximize your arrival experience at EcoCamp with your fellow trekking/Safari group members. Transport in and out of the park is not included as these services are covered by your regular program with EcoCamp.

The vast unbroken stretch of ocean to the west and south of the South American continent leaves the Patagonian Andes very exposed to winds that circle the Antarctic landmass. In addition, the strong marine influence and the effect of the Southern Patagonian Ice field make the weather hard to predict. In spring or early summer fine weather may deteriorate almost without warning, bringing rain and even snow. Even in summer (December to March) you should come prepared to find strong cold winds (up to 130km/hr) and rainfall. The summer’s average temperature is 11ºC/52ºF (24ºCmax, 2ºC min). However, just as quickly as the weather turns nasty, it can become lovely and sunny. So come prepared for all types of weather!
This trip requires you to be in good, physical shape.
The minimum age required is 15 years old, and maximum 65 years old.
What You Need to Bring
Once you book the trip, we will send you a pre-trip information booklet with useful and detailed information about your trip with us.
The weather in Patagonia can be difficult to deal with at times and during Low & Shoulder Season (From April to October) the boat trip to Grey Glacier may be canceled. If that happens, then the Ice Trek cannot be provided and you will be offered alternative excursions within the park.
