Trekking Expeditions

Chile's most famous trekking trails are in Patagonia, in Torres del Paine National Park. Cascada offers hiking routes of various difficulties through the wonderful scenery of mountain peaks, forests, glaciers, rivers, fjords and lakes. Popular treks include the 5 or 7 day Patagonia Torres del Paine W trek and the 9 day Patagonia Torres del Paine Circuit. Cascada also offers trekking in the Atacama desert, leading walkers off-the-beaten-path through the challenging highlands of the world’s driest desert. 
 

Hiking 

Cascada's EcoCamp Patagonian Wildlife Safari offers easy and active hiking options each day. In the Lake District treks are shorter and follow trails leading through dense temperate forests sheltering emerald lagoons. In the central Chilean Andes the landscape is barren in summer and snow-coated in winter and trails lead through interesting flora and fauna. In the Atacama desert treks cover the region’s spectacular geographical highlights in the world’s driest desert.
 

Wildlife Safari

There are two particularly renowned sites in Chile for observing extraordinary wildlife life - Chungara National Park in the Altiplano and Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia. Chungara offers the chance to observe the prolific birdlife inhabiting the breathtaking lagoons at 4.000m/13.000ft above sea level, along with four different types of cameloids. In Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia marine birds can be observed when navigating the fjords and many different species of birds and mammals can be seen including guanacos, foxes, skunks, deers, condors and pumas.
 

Horseback riding

Horseback riding in Chile is a great option for covering long distances over rugged terrain. Horse-riding trips through the Andes mountains provide the perfect opportunity to see mountain formations, wild flowers and streams and get to know the local Baqueano cowboys who tell stories of their forefathers travels on horseback through the Chilean Andes mountains. 
 

Sailing Fjords

Mountaineering

The highest mountains outside the Himalayas are located in the Andes between Chile and Argentina. The significant summits with routes that don´t require technical skills but good physical conditions are: Aconcagua (11day, 6.959m/23.200ft), Ojos del Salado volcano (10day, 6.893m/22.980ft), Licancabur volcano and Cerro Plomo (5day, 5.424m/12.600ft).
 

City Tours
