The annual tourism season is slowly coming to an end at Cascada Expediciones and EcoCamp Patagonia. Over the past 10 months, we had the privilege of welcoming more than 4,700 travelers to discover and experience Chile and Argentina with us. Together, they enjoyed more than 23,000 outdoor experiences, while our team designed nearly 2,000 itineraries.
These numbers leave us amazed and fill us with gratitude toward everyone who trusted us to turn their travel ideas into reality and create meaningful connections with nature.
We are therefore very proud to once again be nominated in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards and the World Travel Awards for our services as a hotel and tour operator in Chile. This year, Cascada celebrates its 35th anniversary and EcoCamp its 25th. Our story began with organizing kayaking and rafting adventures on the Bio Bío river, and over the years grew into nature-based travel experiences across other destinations in Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia. Ten years later, EcoCamp was added to the journey: a sustainable hotel in Patagonia.
Running our hotel sustainably by recycling waste, working with local operators, and designing our domes to be energy-efficient while minimizing their impact on surrounding ecosystems, is often challenging. But we do it very consciously because we care deeply about our environment and want to show that sustainable tourism is possible without compromising on quality. That’s why it’s especially rewarding to now be nominated as a leading eco-lodge and resort.
The Condé Nast Traveler magazine is published in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Every year, travelers can share their experiences with resorts, tour operators, airlines, cities, and other tourism providers through the magazine’s online voting platform. Winners are selected through a random drawing among eligible entries. The more travelers leave ratings for a particular brand or travel experience, the greater the chances of being chosen as a winner.
This year, EcoCamp Patagonia has been nominated in the resorts category in both the US and UK editions. Cascada Expediciones has been nominated in the tour operators & specialists category in the UK edition.
Voting is open until June 30.

The World Travel Awards, often referred to as the Oscars of tourism, are a series of prizes given across more than 50 categories in the global travel industry. Awards are presented at country, regional, and worldwide levels for destinations, hotels, airlines, cruises, travel agencies, tour operators and much more in Chile and around the world.
Nominees are selected by the organization based on previous achievements, recommendations, and received entries, after which both travel professionals and the general public can vote. Votes from travel professionals count double.
